Winter in Amritsar: Hoodies, Napkins and Service Uniforms for Bon Chic

Bon Chic in Amritsar came to us for service and housekeeping uniforms, and the project turned into a good illustration of two things: how much north Indian restaurants need a winter answer, and how much difference it makes when the table linen belongs to the same palette as the team.
The uniform core
Service and housekeeping were built on a shared fabric with different colourways, following the approach we recommend to every client: one garment block, several shades, one crest. The floor reads as one team, guests can tell the departments apart, and reordering is a single conversation rather than three.
Hoodies in three colourways
Amritsar winters are genuinely cold, and by December a restaurant without a supplied winter layer has a floor full of personal jackets in eleven different colours. Bon Chic ordered embroidered hoodies in three colourways in a single production run, which shared the setup cost across all three and let them assign colours by team and shift.
Embroidery rather than print, because fleece is washed less often but worn constantly, and prints on fleece crack long before embroidery does. Producing all three colourways together also meant one thread shade and one placement across the set.
By January, the winter layer becomes the uniform. It is worth treating it as the main garment rather than an accessory.
Napkins that belong to the room
Alongside the uniforms we produced custom table napkins in the same palette. This is the detail that lifts a dining room, and it costs very little relative to its effect: when the napkin on the table, the apron on the server and the menu in the guest's hand share a colour family, the whole room reads as considered.
What we would repeat
- Order winterwear with the main uniform, in September, not in December.
- Run multiple colourways in one production batch to share setup costs.
- Bring the linen into the uniform conversation. It is the cheapest way to make a room feel finished.
- Embroider the winter layer. Always.
Planning yours
If you are north of Nagpur, plan winterwear into the first uniform order rather than treating it as a separate purchase. Send us your team size and city on WhatsApp at +91 98213 34906, or browse finished work on our work gallery.
